Trying to get your average Joe creationist to understand the phrase scientific theory is as hard as getting a fish to enjoy mountaineering. Its an unimagined world for them - it requires a complete reversal of their normal modes of thinking and being. The fact that humans could explain the complexities of this world without a creating God is a world view they cannot grasp. It's like asking a tuna if it appreciates the view from the top of Mount Everest.

Iran President and Free Speech

It seems that the Iranian President is a little short in his understanding of the term free speech. He started his own blog recently but it ended up getting shut down by the very system that Iran uses to ensure that its people can not access the internet freely.

A spokesman for Mr. Ahmadinejad is reported as saying he fully supports the Council of Guardians efforts “to ensure that public discourse is pure and unadulterated by unauthorized free speech"

I am sure he said this with a straight face and with no comprehension of how ridiculous this looks.
