Global poverty is all relative of course isn't it, so remember,
That when you miss lunch and feel hungry there are men, women and children who are dying of hunger each day.
That when you cant get a doctors appointment just when you want it, there are people dying of treatable diseases who have no doctors.
That the next time you feel a bit thirsty there are people with no secure drinking water supply
When you lose a pet and feel sad that mothers are burying their children each day because of poverty.
When you next don't buy Fair Trade items available in the shop that some small grower somewhere may be depending on that sale to feed his children.
When you fritter money on some inessential item that a small amount of money could make a real difference to someone in major poverty.
The next time you sit down to a Christmas or Thanksgiving table loaded by food that there are people who may not see such plenty ever in their lives.
That when you demand cheap goods you may only be getting these because someone else is getting paid poverty wages.
Global poverty? Damn right its all relative.

Small Footprints

I could not have put it better. In fact, I find that every value someone talks about turns out to be relative.
It will become relative if think globally. But you right, small help in small scale sometimes will more tangible.
Anyway, I like your emotional expression in this post.
so true!
When You Get Through
I will love you with all I can
Until your mission is through.
And, when it’s done,
When you can choose life…
One you want to go home to –
Then, you will be truly free
And have no more need for me.
In that time and of that fine place,
Forbid that loved ones would ever
Worry or have cause for disgrace
About time spent without you.
Forget all of those things we all put
Onto your plate. Forget about me, too,
One who tried to help you get through.
I don’t know, but I hope,
That as I was helping you,
You were helping someone, too,
Because I truly believe with all myself-ness
This is how we all can get through
Times like these.
