This month saw the opening of the Scottish & Southern Energy windfarm at Hadyard Hill, near Girvan, Ayrshire.
It is the first windfarm of its type in the country to generate more than 100 megawatts of power and it is claimed that it will reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by almost 300,000 tonnes annually.
