Your situation with the royal family being head of the church and government is truly an astounding mockery that seems calculated to offend everyone. Is there any value to retaining it just to create economic activity for the tabloids?
Looney - it's certainly an outdated historical relic. I suspect the establishment have never tackled this issue because if this role was taken away from the monarchy then it woudl be one less reason why we would need one.
For me, it is an enlightening experience to understand our own secularism vis a vis the British system. Now I understand where the idealism comes from and how it has got converted into pseudo secularism, with the majority religion being discriminated against while pampering the minority ones. The saving grace here is still the presence of science being taught in schools as it should be taught without discarding creationism.
I'm not sure what you mean by "without discarding creationism" - do you mean that creationism IS part of the curriculum?
