"A Man's a Man for all that!" - Rabbie Burns

"Religion? No thanks. I prefer not to outsource my brainwashing."
Trying to get your average Joe creationist to understand the phrase scientific theory is as hard as getting a fish to enjoy mountaineering. Its an unimagined world for them - it requires a complete reversal of their normal modes of thinking and being. The fact that humans could explain the complexities of this world without a creating God is a world view they cannot grasp. It's like asking a tuna if it appreciates the view from the top of Mount Everest.

One year Closes Another Year Beckons

The closure of one year and the opening of another is always a bitter sweet time. One year has gone that we can never relive but another beckons us forward.

Though it is bitter sweet I think there are lots of reasons to be cheerful at this time of year and here's my quick list in no particular order;

Being warm inside when its cold outside.
Good food and drink
The company of family and friends
Christmas TV ( well some of it !)
Seeing people open their presents
Opening presents

While there is always a bitter sweet sense of closure and opening over the winter festival there are reasons to be cheerful. These days mark the closing of this year before the new year opens before us on New Years Day. That's always a reason to be cheerful.
